School of Catholic Charismatic Formation
in the Holy Spirit
The (EFCCES) School of Catholic Charismatic Formation in the Holy Spirit is not an independent group; rather, we are the church in motion united with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement. We work under the body that Pope Francis has appointed as the only agency serving the Charismatic Renewal throughout the world ("CHARIS"). We aim to promote the culture of Pentecost. The objective is to promote and deepen the grace of Baptism in the Holy Spirit, or "KERYGMA", throughout the Church, as well as to promote charisms throughout the Church, to encourage spiritual deepening and holiness for all people who live the experience of baptism in the Holy Spirit. These are our first three objectives since thirteen have been entrusted to us by CHARIS.
We work within a structure called CONCCLAT, the Latin American Catholic Charismatic Council, and also CNSH, which is the Hispanic Service Committee, and RCCES, the Charismatic Renewal Movement of the USA and Canada, with Monsignor Joseph Malagreca and Ms. Katia Arango as National Advisors. RCCES is divided into regions. We belong to Region 5. There are 7 states in Region 5. We have our regional representative who is Mr. Arturo Cervantes and our liaison with the Diocese of Davenport is Father Joseph Sia. There are 8 prayer groups in different parishes of Catholic Charismatic Renewal in our diocese and our charismatic school (EFCCES) is one of them.
Our meetings in the Parish are on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 6:30 to 8pm. On Tuesdays, we offer catechesis and evangelization. We also offer Bible Study courses that touch on topics such as charisms, liturgy, church history, and many more. We continue to open ourselves to the light of the Holy Spirit to guide us to know what our church and our parish needs. The goal of the Saturday meeting, called a “charismatic assembly”, is to bring people to an encounter with God and have an experience of Pentecost. Both days are open to the whole parish, especially to those who feel drawn to this experience of the Holy Spirit moving in our church.
Aside from these gatherings, we are also tasked with conducting the pre-baptismal classes in our parish. The instructors are 2 couples, who are members of the EFCCES. We give the classes once a month on the last Sunday of the month after the Spanish Mass. We are open to continue sharing with others this great gift of God for our Church (the Sacrament of Baptism), to lead others to an encounter with the Risen Jesus, and to experience an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
We do not intend to do anything different from what is already established (i.e. we are faithful to our Church’s teachings). We would like to support the RCCES National Committee and to liven up our parish, diocese and region 5 to which we belong to as the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. We are open to sharing our experiences with other regions of this country and the whole world.
Our mission is: “To evangelize with great power, in order to give an abundant fruit that remains".
(John 15:8-16).
MUCHAS GRACIAS, THANK YOU!
